    Verbs are one of the nine parts of speech in the English language.

    A verb expresses action or state of being.

    An example of a verb is to perform, perform, performed, will perform, have performed, had performed, will have performed, performing, was performing, will be performing, have been performing, had been performing, will have been performing, could perform, could have performed, could be performing, etc.
