    Julie London, an American jazz singer and actress.

    Julie London was first successful as an actress. Her husband, pianist Bobby Troup, encouraged her to try nightclub singing. Liberty was the only label willing to take a chance on the actress. Her first album, “Julie Is Her Name”, was recorded like her live act, with only guitar and bass for support.
