biography

Born Keon Kirkpatrick and raised in the “Jungle” of Los Angeles, Ca. Menotti first gained notoriety on the underground scene by being featured on a song called “Real Nigga” with Lyrix from the Black Experience. Menotti philosophy is to kill em all with a party song and leave no survivors in the cirlce of rappers. This 20 year old has blended graphic tales of thug style parkin’ lot pimpin’ and emotional ghetto testimonies to his folks in the Jungle. Menotti has a different style that pays tribute to his childhood idols, Tupac, BIG, Cube, and DMX.

“I went from a hard childhood to a hard adulthood.” Growing up in a single parent household, proved to be rough on Menotti, his brother and his sister. At age 12, Menotti’s first inspiration to write came from his mother who was a poet. His poetry reflected upon the life and times of young black males in his same situation. This quickly turned into raps that rang the same type of vicious reality.

Menotti will be sure to reach his goals with quotes like, “This life of sin makes me feel like i’m out of place, but I keep my faith in God so my soul is safe.” Menotti’s positive party vibe rides the edge of intense lyrical spirituality and the heartbeat of the L.A. Streets. Don’t be afraid of the heat being generated from a Menotti record. The name Menotti came from a writer who wrote plays and poetry that reflected real life struggles in Italy in 1903.
